Please
prepare in advance when traveling with a child or infant.
Age limit
An accompanied child refers to a child that is over 2 years of
age and under 12 years of age. An accompanied infant refers
to an infant that is below 2 years of age. The adult
traveling with the child or infant must be over 18 years old
and a guardian of the child.
General regulations
An adult should not travel with more than 2 infants, one
infant and two children, or three children.
You must obtain approval from Air China to travel with an infant. The infant
should be over 14 days old and if premature, over 90 days old.
The accompanied child/infant must be in the same cabin as the accompanying
adult. If the accompanying adult is not in the same cabin, then you must
follow unaccompanied children procedures.
Ticket price
Children between the ages of 2-12 years old can travel
using the Children Fare which is regulated by the carrier.
Infants under the age of 2 years old can travel at a 90%
discount of the published fare of first class, business
class or economy class but will not have their own seat
assignment. If you would like your infant to have an
independent seat, please purchase Child Fare ticket. If you
have more than one infant, please purchase a Child Fare
ticket for the second infant. Electronic tickets on Air
China are not currently available to infants.
Services provided
Most flights on Air China provide cradles for babies.
Please reserve a cradle more than 72 hours in advance to
ensure one is available. This can be done through the local
business department of Air China.
Child and infant meals are available. Please request
these special meals during your ticket reservation.
- Child Meal (CHML) – This meal is prepared for child
passengers. No salty or sweet foods are used.
- Baby Meal (BBML) – This meal is prepared for infants. Two
types of baby food are served, such as meat, vegetables or fruit.
